ICONOMI has received authorisation (licenses) under MiFID II and is in the process of getting licensed for crypto-services (MiCA) this summer.
September is when our new offering opens.
Here's what the licence means, and what comes next.
MiFID II covers traditional investments: stocks, bonds, ETFs, and strategies built around them. With this licenses, ICONOMI is authorised as an investment firm under the EU framework.
Your account is now formally inside that framework that offers a higher standard of investor protection compared to MICA.
MiCA, which covers digital assets, follows later this summer. The full platform launches once both are confirmed.Your existing account on ICONOMI is not affected. Your assets remain on the platform run by ICONOMI throughout this process.
One account. Everything in it.
When both authorisations are in place, the platform relaunches with:
And something the platform has not offered so far: structured financial tools to plan what you are actually building toward. Not more access to more assets. A way to think clearly about what you are doing with them.
You will receive clear communication before anything requires action from you.
Is my money safe ?
Your assets remain on the platform under the current Terms of service. MiFID II authorisation brings your account under additional EU regulatory oversight once migrated. That does not change how your account works today.
When will the new platform be available?
MiFID II authorisation is granted. We expect MiCA to follow during summer 2026. All new platform features will be launched once both are in place. No date is set before MiCA is confirmed, as we still need to work with the regulators to achieve this second milestone.
What will the new platform actually include?
One account holding individual stocks, ETFs including fractional shares, commodities, digital assets, securities strategies, and digital asset strategies. For investors from countries (e.g. Slovenia) where individual investment accounts are available, those accounts will be made available too.
Structured planning tools alongside: a way to think clearly about what you're building toward, not just more assets to hold.
I'm a Slovenian investor. Does this affect me?
Not during this process. When the new platform launches, your INR will be part of the same ICONOMI account view as your other assets, rather than managed separately. You'll be told clearly what, if anything, you need to do at that point.
