We decided to liquidate our $RUNE positions since the lending program is sitting in unrealized loss which could adversly affect the rune price as more liquidity seeks to de-risk

Because rune lost value vs BTC. Lending is a gamble since it makes the assumption that rune won't underperform and that rune can buy back loans. But there is no guarantee for that. That's why Rune has become a very risky investment
